While WhatsApp on Windows Phone is pretty stable now after fixing the notification issue, when it comes to media files like images, audio and videos, the users still have to manually download them one by one to view them.

While in other platform, auto download in the background does the job in Windows Phone, its bit difficult because of background usage restriction and how the OS handles it.Good news is that this feature is finally making its way to Windows Phone version also and is coming with loads of settings that will make sure to save bandwidth and give power to users.
According to this image posted by Nawzil, WhatsApp will have a dedicated section for Auto Download. This will give you fine control on what you want to download i.e. If your mobile data is limited, you can turn off video and audio but make sure the images download instantly.
The images are from beta and it should be around the corner. We will keep you posted when it’s out and how it works.
