According to sources at DigiTimes, mass production of Apple’s iWatch is rumoured to have been shifted from the first quarter of next year to the second quarter.

The reports claim this shift is due to “low yields”, but of which component it is not known.
The Taiwanese behind the rumour mill that is DigiTimes, also reported that Apple has chosen a manufacturing partner for a 12.9-inch “MaxiPad”. The “MaxiPad”, they claim, is scheduled for mass production in the second half of next year.

The contract has apparently gone to Quanta, which based in Taiwan claims to be “the largest notebook computer ODM company in the world.” Ironic when you consider that Apple was also rumoured to be looking into “touch cover” keyboards, much similar to Microsoft’s Surface keyboard.

Whether these reports are true or not, we’ll leave you to make your own decision. We’d love to hear about your speculations as to when the iWatch will arrive and just what the “MaxiPad” might be.
