Do you feel like your ultrabook could do with a boost where capacity is concerned? Well Samsung has just announced the world’s first 1TB mSATA SSD, which could be the answer to your problem.

Any slim device currently makes use of the mini-Serial ATA drives, which do their best to cram as much  storage as possible into the ultra-slim kit. This can be a bit of an issue, especially when you consider that most laptops have 2.5-inch drives.

The smaller 1.8-inch mSATA drives just can’t match up on capacity.

Samsung’s 840 EVO SSD is the first mSATA drive to offer users 1TB of storage. The speed looks reassuringly fast, with read speeds of 540MB/s and write speeds of 520 MB/s.
This incredible mSATA drive will be available in 120GB, 250GB and 500GB but when there’s 1TB on offer, it is a no brainer which one you would rather go for.

The only issue is that there have been no announcements on price yet and seeing that it is the world’s first, expect it to come with a hefty price tag.
