Aviate is an intelligent home screen application simplifies any Android phone by organizing the information you need, when you need it. “We believe our phones should be smarter,” the company said in a blog post that announced an invite-only Beta launch.
Aviate debuted its Alpha program this summer and now that the bugs have been fixed, scalability increased and the user experience improved, the company is now rolling out an update to users. Those on the waiting list can download the latest version to receive an invitation. According to the blog, users will now have the ability to invite friends to join Aviate “because we all know flying is more fun with friends.”
The application itself changes your Smartphone’s home screen into a customisable personal space, where you can get quick access to your most-used applications, check the time and date, highlight your favourite photo etc. The software boasts an easy-to-navigate screen and a streamlined design. Aviate auto-adapts your home screen to your lifestyle, current location, interests, and changes throughout the day to match your activities. It can also categorise your apps by topic, so you don’t have to fumble through different folders to locate everything you need for a specific task.
When Aviate is installed and running, you find the weather and scheduled events at the start of your day; when driving, Aviate offers traffic news and directions; you can even take Aviate to dinner to get photos, tips, and reviews of restaurants. The application has been developed specifically to simplify your phone, your life and not offer heavy customizations. ”Aviate will dramatically alter your home screen for the better,” the Google Play description said. “It will look different — and we hope you like it.”
The Aviate beta version is currently available in the Google Play store for free download on Android phones running Gingerbread 2.3 or above. There is no information regarding when the company expects to launch a full version for all Android users. See for yourself, the intelligent home screen in action in the attached video.
