It’s MWC’s first day and we’re seeing plenty of new and exciting launches from various vendors. Sony is among the first to show the slew of new devices that will be hitting the market soon and one of them is the Xperia M2. The phone is successor to Xperia M and Sony has made sure that it’s a worthy one.
Xperia M2 comes packing a 4.8 inch qHD TFT display and is powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor with four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.2GHz. Sony has also fitted 1GB of RAM, 8 gigs of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS sensor and a 2,300mAh battery. The phone is also waterproof, so it isn’t afraid of a little drizzle. Xperia M2 also comes with connectivity radios including LTE, 3G, GPS, GLONASS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and FM radio. It should also see a dual SIM variant.
Xperia M2 runs on Android 4.3 and for now Sony hasn’t talked about an incoming update, but we’re hoping that the phone should get the KitKat update sooner or later. The expected price of the phone is close to $300 and it should hit global markets in April.
