Sony has unveiled the Xperia Z2 flagship smartphone at the MWC. The
phone feels like a refresh to the not so old Xperia Z1 and adds some new
features and refinements to what was already an excellent phone.
Sony has packed the Xperia Z2 with a slightly larger 5.2 inch display (vs. 5 inch on the Xperia Z1), although the resolution remains the same at 1080p. Sony has used BRAVIA tech in the display which should make it a worthwhile update over Z1′s display. The phone has also been equipped with a Snapdragon 801 quad core processor with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3GHz. Sony has also upped the RAM to 3GB, as well as packed the phone with a beefier 3,200mAh battery, 16GB internal storage and IP58 water and dust proof certification. The phone packs the same 20.7MP rear camera, although this time it is capable of capturing 4K videos, as well as a separate mode of for Brokeh, 720p video recording at 120fps and a mode for Vine videos. The company has managed to pack all this in a thinner and lighter (158g) shell.
Xperia Z2 will launch in March for €600 in White, Black and Purple. To sweeten the deal, Sony will also pack Sony MDR-NC31EM headset with digital noise cancellation.
