Soccer or football as we like to call it here in the U.K. is, apparently, a gentleman’s game, played by hooligans. But when I used to play, it was a hard game, with even harder players!

For the love of the game, I still follow the occasional match and I must admit I love to watch the World Cup.  This time round FIFA have made things a little easier to do so, as they have just unveiled an app for that very purpose!
With the 2014 World Cup Final Draw only a short period of time away (December 6th), to coincide with this momentous event, FIFA has launched official apps for both iOS and Android.   The apps are available now and according to FIFA, they provide live score updates for “85 of the world’s top leagues” (including Major League Soccer in the United States). Fortunately the app offers news, standings, statistics, and photos / video for even more football teams, in fact there are a total of 197 global leagues across the planet which are accessible using the app.

Users of the app can expect news and information on “hundreds of competitions, thousands of goals and over a million minutes of football every single week,” FIFA says.
In-depth tournament coverage and the latest FIFA Coca-Cola World Rankings are also part of the official app. Obviously, the upcoming World Cup in Brazil next summer is a huge focus for people and FIFA says you will be able to stream the Final Draw for the games, live on December 6th.
Please note: some may be confused by this app and the Official FIFA Game app.  This app is for news, stats, videos and data and it is not to be confused with the football game app.  But, both can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play respectively.
