The ability to stream content to your home television is a wondrous thing isn’t it? With online services such as Netflix and LOVEFiLM paving the way for the masses to consume all the entertainment they will ever need, is there room for other services to get a look in? Well, LG think so as they have teamed up with a movie and Smart TV streaming service called Wuaki.tv.

LG Electronics is to bring the Wuaki.tv app to the brand’s new Television range. Wuaki.tv will uniquely allow users to select either a monthly subscription of a cherry-picked catalogue of content called; the Wuaki.tv Selection, or renting and purchasing the most recent blockbuster releases and popular TV shows. The app’s massive catalogue of TV shows and movies can be streamed to internet-connected devices such as; Xbox One and iPad and now LG’s Smart TV range.Image: tecnocosas
Wuaki.tv had previously made partnerships with Samsung and Panasonic and now they have expanded their horizons with the latest addition to the Smart TV market with their deal with LG. This partnership now makes Wuaki.tv available on most of the Smart TVs on sale in the UK today.
The company’s home market is in Spain with over 70% of movies and TV series streamed from Wuaki.tv. Now UK viewers are set to follow this trend. Jacinto Roca, Founder and CEO of Wuaki.tv. said, “Smart TVs have become increasingly commonplace in the average living room, in both Spain and the UK, and this is reflected in how consumers are using the Wuaki.tv service, hence we are very happy to agree this partnership with a top TV manufacturer such as LG,”
The streaming service, owned by Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten is currently live in the UK and Spain with more European launches penned for Italy, France and Germany in the next year.
