"App Folder" App Come To Windows Phone

Nokia today announced the availability of Nokia Lumia Black update which was announced during Nokia World and is already available in the Lumia 1520 and 1320. To our surprise, this update has an additional feature which many of us always wanted  — Support for Folder — which was not available with Lumia 1520 either. Glad to see Nokia managed to keep this as secret.

This app works on all Windows Phone including 1520, 1320, 925 920, 625, 720, 820, 520 and 620 and the newly launched Lumia 525
Update : It seems the app can be installed on any Windows Phone and is not dependent on Black Update. :) Make everybody happy!!

So how do you setup folders:
Well its done basically through app and the reason why nobody found it in the settings or even by trying to drag and drop tiles over each other. The app is listed here .

• Once the app is installed, launch it and hit the Plus sign on the menu bar. You need to name it as soon as you do that
• Next step is where all the apps and settings are listed. You read it right, even settings can be included which includes WIFI, Mobile Network, Location and so on.
• You can sort apps based on Name or by Date Installed.
• Once done, you can pin it instantly on your start screen. Job Done.

• It seems you can add any number of apps and settings but there should be a limit, I am not sure as of now.
• You can delete the apps one by one with a long press on each of them. To delete multiple apps, In the folder view, press + icon again, and then unselect the apps and settings you want to remove from the folder.
• You can also make a search if you remember the app name.
• They can rearranged by dragging them from right end of the app.

Now here is the deal, its folder so you cannot launch any of the apps inside directly even though it shows up on the tile. However it keeps up with the interface and saves you few steps.
The update is available globally for Nokia Lumia 925 and 1020 and you can check on your phone by going to Settings > Phone Update.  However the black update is still not available for devices like the Lumia 920, 625, 720, 820, 520 and 620 and the newly launched Lumia 525.
