HP has announced two new slates powered by Android, the HP Slate 6 and Slate 7. Both the devices come with voice calling capabilities making them essentially large phablets.

The first in line is the Slate 6 VoiceTab sporting a 6 inch display. It is more of a phablet than a tablet in a manner of speaking. HP hasn’t revealed the specs of the device yet, except for the fact that it houses a quad core processor and comes with dual SIM slots. The other one comes with a seven inch display along with a quad core processor again, as well as dual SIM capabilities. Although still needing an official confirmation, the word is that the two devices come with a screen resolution of 1,280×800 pixels and Android 4.2 onboard. That makes them essentially mid range both by tablet and phablet standards.
HP would be launching the two devices in India next month and for the moment it isn’t confirmed if the western markets would be getting the Slate 6 and Slate 7 or not.
