Nokia Cinemagraph V 4.0 App for Windows Phone With New Features

Nokia Cinemagraph for Windows Phone has been updated to version 4 for Nokia Lumia owners. It offers a new GIF export feature and adds location data for better integration with Nokia Storyteller. We’ve been checking it out on our Nokia Lumia 625 and Lumia 1020 to check it works as it should.

Cinemagraph is exclusive to Nokia Lumia, it’s not on the Windows Phone Store but you’ll find it in the Nokia Collection on your handset. It works pretty much in the same way as creating a GIF image, so you can enhance what would otherwise be a static photograph by adding animations. With the latest Nokia Cinemagraph version 4 update you’ll be able to export to GIF format.

With Cinemagraph you can experience smooth crossfading transitions with a 720p resolution.


Once you’ve captured your image there are editing tools that allow you to fine tune and make the most of your images. For example, you can define the length of the animated loop, while Colour Pop allows you to change the overall look and feel of the file. If you want, as we have in the above demo, we’ve even looped the image so the skeleton walks forward and then back again.


Once edited you can now export as a GIF file or share it via social media, email or SMS – all you need is a Nokia account. In order to share with others you’ll need to upload the cinemagraph to Nokia servers and then share the link.

We’ve been checking out the Nokia Cinemagraph version 4 update on our Nokia Lumia 1020 and Nokia Lumia 625 and the update works on both these models, so you’ll find it works with all variants of Windows Phone 8.
