A few days back we heard rumors about HTC working on a Desire series smartphone with an octa core MediaTek processor.

We’re not sure if these are just rumors, but in the meanwhile, HTC Desire 310 has been spotted on company’s European site that isn’t half as bad. The Desire 310 comes powered with a quad core MediaTek processor, the first from HTC.
Desire 310 is a low-mid range phone, packing a 4.5-inch display qHD display. It packs a 1.3GHz quad core processor paired with just 512MB RAM. The phone also features 4GB internal memory, 5 megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera and a 2,000mAh battery. It runs on Android 4.2.2, which although not the latest, sounds decent for an entry level phone like this.
The phone will be available in black and white when it hits the market. No word on the pricing, but we’re expecting something close to $200 range.
