The clamor about a bigger display on the iPhone has been growing and it seems like Apple might finally give in to that demand this year.

We’ve been hearing plenty many rumors about the alleged display size on the next iPhone (with some claims going as far as stating that the next iPhone could be a phablet with 5.7 inch display), however, the latest one seems rather believable.
Based on checks within Apple’s supply chain, analyst Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company claims that the next gen iPhone could come with a 4.8 inch display. Not only that, but the phone would also feature Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard, seen in the new Macs as well. The analyst claims that Apple would be using technologies like Touch ID along with new innovative softwares to give itself some breathing space against the competition.
With Apple failing to keep the same growth momentum as the overall smartphone market, the decision to move to a larger screen size seems sensible. Although not mammoth after what we’ve seen in the market, 4.7-5 inch seems like a decent size for a current day flagship.
