Perhaps that why, the company after signing a 10 year cross licencing patent deal with Google, the company has signed another $650 million deal with Swedish company Ericsson in addition to royalty fees for years.
The settlement comes two years after Ericsson sued the company for infringing multiple patents. Some of these were related to touchscreen functions and network efficiency. Initially, Samsung had signed a deal with Ericsson all the way back in 2001, which was then renewed in 2007 again. Although, when the time came to renew it again in 2011, Samsung accused Ericsson of way more than what it felt was reasonable.
