There are times when the user already empties his monthly data plan limit. It ha ppens mostly in the Android phones. There are various reasons for this fact. Ericsson, the networking company has issued a report that addresses such concerns. It has been found out that Android smartphones consume as much as 2.2 GB of data a month which is alarming. On the other hand, iPhones and Windows phones consume 1.7 GB and 1.4 GB respectively.
The major reason for such a heavy difference is that the Android devices have bigger screens. Thus, it is a common possibility that the Android smartphones will consume more data than the other devices in the market. It also attributes to the tendency of Android users. The people who are customers of an Android phone will not get attracted to tablets because an Android phone possesses large screen space. Hence, the data consumption of such smartphones is bigger than the other phones working on different Operating systems.

The display screens of iPhone and Windows phone is much smaller than that of an Android phone. So, the IOS and Windows phone users usually go for iPads or other tablets for more consumption of data. This tendency lacks in the case of Android phone users. This contributes to a bigger reason for the over consumption of data in case of Android smartphones. In case of high end Android smartphones models, it is even worse. In the recent study it has been found out that in the US, high end Android smartphone users spend 4.4 GB data per month on an average which is surprising.
When the telecom analyst Chetan Sharma was confronted, he told the reporters that it could alos be attributed to the weak handling of apps by Android phones. iPhones and Windows phones manage the data more effectively than the Android devices. The users of the Android phones are complacent when it comes to upgrading their device. They miss out on the latest software in such way and lose out on the possibility of lowering the data consumption in their device. In case of Android phones, there is a bigger possibility that apps run in the background consuming data continuously while it is not the same case with IOS and Windows phone devices.
The user engagement in case of Android smartphones is stronger than the other devices in the market. Therefore, the consumption of heavier data is not a bad thing at all.  It maintains the eco-system and it is necessary too. With the popular android phones featuring in the market, people do not mind spending a little more on the data consumption than usual in order to operate their favorite smartphone with bigger screen.
