There have been murmurs about the power of NVIDIA’s K1 mobile chip processor, but unfortunately this formidable CPU is still a ways away from coming to market.

Of late, AnTuTu has become the source of many leaks about upcoming smartphones and things inside them. This time, the becnhmarking tool has given an insight into the performance of the upcoming Tegra K1 processor from NVIDIA. The processor was seen on a particular Tegra Note tablet with model number P1761. The slate was also equipped with 2GB RAM, Android 4.2.2, 16GB storage and a 1080p display.
The tablet managed to score 38,323 points on the tool which is more than the previous reference model ( P1640), which scored 35,912. Although, we’ve seen one particular model reach a score of 43,851. That’s still more than what Galaxy Note 3 manages with its Snapdragon 800 processor (close to 35,000 points).
Also, since this is a prototype unit, we might see some more juice from the processor once it goes into smartphones and tablets ready to be picked off shelves. The test model was clocked at 2.1GHz, while its known that the processor can be clocked up to 2.3GHz. Also, the processor should perform better on Android KitKat.
