Microsoft is expected to unveil the Update 1 to Windows 8.1 soon and we’ve already started getting news about it.

After the initial leaks, a pre-release build has been leaked online. The build named “9600.16596.WINBLUES14_GDR_LEAN.140114-0237″ is available in 64-bit flavor.
Confirming the previous leaks the build reveals that Update 1 would bring further improvements to the OS, most of which are aimed towards the mouse and keyboard users. Keyboard and mouse users (and not touchscreen ones) will now find  contextual menus to appear upon right clicking tiles that would allow options such as unpinning the tile, uninstalling the app, running the app with administrator permissions, resizing the tile itself, and pinning the app to the desktop’s taskbar. The update would also enable keyboard and mouse users to see minimize and close buttons to apps.
Other improvements include ability to pin apps to desktop start bar, new power management buttons on the Start Screen and plenty many under the hood changes, which we’re hoping. Then, it’s a pre-build and the final version might look slightly different. Rumor has it that Microsoft would be unveiling the update on March 11, but then that’s just a rumor of course.
