Due to its ability to innovate and stay up to date, Qualcomm processors have found their way into most of our smartphones. The company has continued to show that traits at MWC and announced three new processors, namely the Snapdragon 801, 610 and 615.
The Snapdragon 801 is a minor upgrade to the current champion Snapdragon 800. The processor still packs four Krait 400 cores on 32-bit architecture, although the CPU clock speed has been bumped to 2.45GHz from 2.26GHz. the GPU clock has also been bumped to 578MHz from 450MHz and the memory bus now runs at 933MHz vs. 800MHz on the Snapdragon 800. the chipset also brings support for  eMMC 5.0 that allows for faster embedded flash storage. Xperia Z2 has become the first device to come with the new processor.
Moving on to the Snapdragon 610 and 615, these are Qualcomm’s mid range processors with 64-bit architecture. The 610 packs four 64-bit ARM Cortex A53 cores along with Adreno 405 GPU, while the 615 double the number of cores to eight, while keeping everything else the same as 610. Whether the eight cores can run simultaneously isn’t exactly known at the moment. We’ll update, once we have more info.
