Apple has acknowledged the iMessage issues that plague a number of users since they've upgraded to iOS 7, and is working on a fix, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Reports of iMessages not reaching their recipients have been mounting on Apple's forums and social networks since the release of iOS 7. In most of these reports, users complain that their iMessages appear to be sent, but later get the dreaded red exclamation mark with a notice saying they never got through.

Current workarounds include restarting the device or resetting the network settings, but these don't seem to permanently fix the problem. Luckily, Apple is working on a permanent solution.

“We are aware of an issue that affects a fraction of a percent of our iMessage users, and we will have a fix available in an upcoming software update,” Apple said in a statement.
