It wasn’t a big surprise for a lot of people, while interviewing Apple executive Eddy Cue last month said “I want to see Apple’s new iTunes Radio services rolled out to more countries as soon as possible. Of course Apple wants to see its streaming radio offering available to one and all at the earliest opportunity, but these things take time”. But at the moment this service can only be availed users in the US only, this lets the users build music stations according to their choice of genres, songs and artists.

But it seems like this all is started to happen already with the claims made by Bloomberg that iRadio music service will be launching not only in Australia but also in UK, Canada and New Zealand by start of 2014.

The claims also stated that Nordic countries such as Sweden, Norway and Denmark are also being targeted for the release at the same time.

And if these claims made by Bloomberg are somewhat true then it is expected that the arrival of iTunes Radio in Australia will come with a big bang to the current top players being used within the streaming radio space.

It can be a big blow for companies such as Pandora whose services are not only available in Australia but also in the US and New Zealand. Apple is also rolling out its services with deals of international rights with the Universal Music Group as well as other record companies.

Apple has already released the iTunes Radio with the release of the iOS7 on the 18th of September 2013, with more than 11 million different people using the service within the first 5 days of its release.

“One of our top priorities is to bring iTunes Radio obviously here in the UK but everywhere in the world,” Cue told the Associated Press in an interview in London at the end of last month. “We certainly want to be in more than 100 countries.” Going by Bloomberg’s report, the roll out is soon to begin.
