Instagram Building Private Messaging, & “Share A Moment With You" On Next Thursday

Invitations have been sent out to an event held by Instagram next week in New York City. The invitation for the event, which will be hosted by CEO Kevin Systrom and his team, requested that the guests “share a moment”.

There are no details as to what Instagram is planning to announce but the rumour is that there is a messaging feature in the pipeline.

The invitation came with a woodblock printed with an Instagram image on it, leading some to claim that the company would launch a printing option. But GigaOm’s Om Malik said last month that “well placed sources” told him that Instagram is preparing to release a private messaging feature.

The event is set to begin on Thursday, 12th December at 10AM, so keep posted for all the latest on the announcement.
