Even after the Windows 8.1 update, people still haven’t fully accepted the concept of two different modes (desktop and Metro mode, of course) on their machines.

Well, it seems Microsoft is listening and plans to improve things further in the coming update. If a leaked screenshot from Russian leakster WZor is to be believed, the Windows 8.1 Update 1 will allow to pin Metro apps in the taskbar of the desktop mode. A new option “Show Store apps on the taskbar” was also found in the taskbar properties menu.
This comes in after Microsoft has faced flak for having two different environments on its operating system, which has become a point of inconvenience for the users. Perhaps, Update 1 will be able to bridge that gap somewhat, before Microsoft readies Windows 9, that is rumored to debut in 2015.
