HTC chairman talked about the company’s need to focus on the mid range devices. Seems like the company has already started working on it, as a new HTC mid range phone that goes by the name of Desire 8 was leaked today. The phone is amid range phablet with a screen size of 5.5 inches. that makes it one of the largest non flagship phones from HTC to date. The phone will also come equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front shooter.
The phone will be available in white, red, yellow, orange and cyan. Desire 8 would also drop the capacitive buttons for on-screen ones, a trend which the company seems to have adopted for its entire lineup. The innards of the phone are yet unknown, but it could well be the octa-core MediaTek powered Desire phone that was being talked about not so long ago. Although, the images in both the leaks don’t really match, so that’s just a speculation for now.
We’ll know more on March 18th according to the leak. But chances are that the phone could get announced at the MWC.
