It appears as if LG though it would be better to launch its first flagship for 2014 ahead of MWC, just so that it can stay in the limelight a little longer. The company has taken wraps off the LG G Pro 2, successor to last year’s Optimus G Pro. The phone, it appears, has been built to compete with the Galaxy Note 3, which is its biggest competitor.Lg has equipped the G Pro 2 with a 5.9 inch 1080p display, the same size as the Note 3. The phone also comes packing a Snapdragon 800 processor at 2.3GHz along with 3GB RAM, 16/32GB internal memory and a 3,200mAh battery. LG has given special attention to the phone’s camera department and put a 13MP rear camera with improved OIS over the LG G2 and 4K and 1080p 120fps video recording capabilities.
The phone will come with Android 4.4.2 out of the box. That isn’t all though, since LG has equipped it with its own software goodies, including features like Knock Code, that allows users to unlock their phone just by tapping on the screen.
LG G Pro 2 follows G2′s in the button placement department and comes with volume rocker and power buttons on the back side. The phone will be made available in black, white and silver. We’ll see more of it at the MWC.
