Fans of LG smartphones will be glad to hear that another device has been announced. LG has announced that it will unveil a pint-sized version of its G2 smartphone, named G2 mini, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 in Barcelona, Spain.

It seems like LG can’t really wait until MWC to announce its phones. After the G2 Pro and the L III series of smartphones, the company today lifted the curtains off LG G2 mini. Don’t let the name fool you, as a screen size of 4.7 inches doesn’t really qualify to be called as mini.
Unlike the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, LG has instead gone for a mid range device similar to the HTC One mini and the Galaxy S4 mini. We’ll have to admit, the specs of the phone are disappointing, even for a mid ranger in 2014. LG has packed the phone with a 4.7 inch qHD (540 x 960) pixels and has put a quad core Snapdragon 400 processor or a Tegra 4i inside, depending on the market where it gets released. The phone will also feature 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, microSD slot, 8MP/1.3MP shooters and a 2,440mAh battery. Fortunately it’ll run on Android 4.4 KitKat.
The phone will begin selling in March starting from Russia and later to other parts of Asia, Latin America and Europe. It’ll be made available in four color options — red, black, white and gold. LG hasn’t said anything on the pricing front yet.
