Thanks to a leaked SDK, which was originally intended to be used by select developers, we have been able to get our hands on some upcoming new features, as well as unveil features that are hidden in the SDK.While we covered lot of features that was released via the document that was leaked, it seems a lot of features are now showing up after enthusiasts have started fiddling with the SDK. These features has been posted on the Facebook page of Windows Phone Lovers.
It is quiet possible that some features may not make it to final release but one thing is sure Microsoft had been busy and really working hard. We will know when soon during the Build!!
Internet Explorer:
- Possible to upload files and its done via an APP. You may choose Photos or Phone. When you choose phone, you can select picture, music, videos, documents, downloads and ringtones.
- There is also a possibility of a download folder where you can see previously downloaded file. This feature has a minor presence in current scenario but it is not highlighted nor used.
- The downloaded files can be automatically saved into respective hub.
- Remember Password option for IE with possibility of sync with Windows 8.1
Email and Contacts:
New Contact Layout now makes it easy for you to switch between accounts when saving a new contact. This way if you need to switch to which email account you want to save, you can do that. In current scenario this is not possible unless you start over.Add Contacts : Now you can choose which app can import contacts apart from emails. This will open up opportunity for third party apps to import contacts.
Auto Download Images: It will be possible to choose to automatically download images and full message as they arrive in the inbox. Right now it happens when you open an email and choose to download.
Usage based behaviour: New Email setting will save data for emails you don’t check often by downloading them less.
Filter Contacts : Now you can filter contacts based on account basis. So if you want to see only contacts from Google Account, you can do that.
Import Contacts from SIM. You can choose to import and save to an account.

- Option to update store apps automatically.
- Option to update store apps when only on Wi-Fi.

Media Features:
- Native Audio and Video editing with effects like slow motion.
- Apps will be able to capture video and audio using API and without interaction with default camera and so on. This will open up possibility of silent recording and video capture.
- Photos which automatically get uploaded to Skydrive or Posted on network, you will see a separate section where you can see individual status for all the pictures.
Miscellaneous:
Resetting option now lets you erase SD card as well. This way you start over completely. However use this carefully if you don’t want to lose all data.Sharing is now via Apps. It seems starting with Windows Phone 8.1, Apps are core. Everything is happening via apps. Even status sharing has to be done via apps. The me tile will soon become useless!!
You will be able to uninstall multiple apps on the go or even move to back to phone or SD card. This is great if it makes it as managing apps and space will be much easier.
Choose Voice Navigation App : It will be possible for third part to hook with voice navigation system of Windows Phone.
Mute Messages : Useful if you are in group chat.
People Hub Hook : It will be possible for apps to hook into People HUB. Since native Facebook and Twitter integration is going away, you will now be able to add apps which can show up in People HUB. This is awesome!!
Podcast: There will be a default app which will let you subscribe to new podcast using a search or default ways. You can choose how many podcasts to keep, if they should be downloaded over WiFi or if you want to stream. Multiple select option is also available.
Mirror your Screen: You can project your screen to external device with option of landscape, portrait, flip mode and also troubleshoot if the connection gets flaky.

Find My Phone : This feature is getting smarter by auto saving phones last location periodically. This way tracing your phones location will be lot easier.
Data Sense : This now has level of restrictions for browser. When turned on you can choose how much savings you would want to. Still not much sure how it works. Also the Data Sense API is now open to the operators which makes sure that data calculated via your pone and actual data on network is same.
Calendar : It supports Day, Week, Month and year view.
Battery Sense: You can choose to run apps in background even when the battery is low. Handy for important apps you want to keep the tab on. It will also detect if the input power is low and warn you accordingly.
Office :
- You will be able to open Password protected Office documents.
- Office Lens now can scan documents and text on whiteboards in a way that they are clear, easy to read when saved.
