Nokia Lumia 920 & Lumia 820 Now Receiving The Black Update

After the Nokia Lumia 925 and the Lumia 1020, it is Nokia Lumia 920′s turn to get the Nokia Black update. Reports are coming in from India that the update is now available for download on the unlocked Lumia 920 handsets.

The update comes on the heels of that for the Lumia 925, which is understandable since they basically share the same hardware.
The Nokia Black update packs the Update 3 (formally called GDR3) update for Windows Phone 8 along with Nokia’s own bundled goodies. These include an orientation lock, new drive mode, ability to close apps from the multi task menu, Glance Screen 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and the new Nokia Camera app. There are also several under the hood changes including better camera algorithm and performance.
Meanwhile, users in Italy are reporting that the update is also available for the Lumia 820. If the update isn’t available in your region already, it shouldn’t be long before it is.
Update: Users are reporting that after the download is complete, they are getting the 80188309 error which prevents the complete install of the update:
“The update was downloaded, but couldn’t be opened (80188309)”
