Sony Announces Xperia Z2 Tablet

Sony has lifted wraps off the Xperia Z2 Tablet at MWC and it is just as impressive as its predecessor. Sony claims that the tablet is the thinnest and the lightest waterproof tablet on the planet, a claim we’re not really surprised to hear given than Sony showed us what it was capable of with the Xperia Z Tablet last year.
Sony has packed the Xperia Z2 Tablet with top of the line specs that makes it as impressive as the smartphone that shares a part of the tablet’s name. The slate comes packing a 10.1 inch FHD (1920 x 1200) display with technologies such as Triluminos display with Live Color LED plus X-Reality mobile picture engine (although from past experience most of these have turned out to be just fancy names for mediocre screens). Xperia Z2 Tablet also packs the mighty Snapdragon 800 processor with four Krait 400 cores rocking at 2.3GHz and Adreno 330GPU. There’s also 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD slot and 8.1MP/2MP snappers. The tablet runs on Android 4.4.
In terms of design, Xperia Z2 tablet has shaved off 70 grams of the Z Tablet’s weight and losses a little more thickness to bring it under 6.9mm. The tablet still keeps the Omnibalance design from last year. Sony has also packed the tablet with a suite of TV apps and services along with six blockbuster movies bundled along. The tablet will also support Play Station 4′s DualShock 3 controller for gaming.
Xperia Z2 Tablet will hit the markets in black and white in March, although Sony hasn’t said anything on the pricing.
