Microsoft has given life to a new brand of cloud storage called as OneDrive, a variant of older SkyDrive. The rebranding of the old storage services might have been due to the angle of marketing to be focused on “one” platform for all services according to some users.
In its last update, list of features were rolled out which is as follows:
I tried looking if the Windows 8 version also went through the rebranding but it seems to same or hasn’t been rolled out till now. Hopefully it should show up sooner than we thought.

While OneDrive Web version is still in preview mode, Skydrive App for Windows Phone 8 has just been updated and its renamed to Skydrive….it simply means the click has started ticking and we should soon see it on Windows 8 and other places as well.In its last update, list of features were rolled out which is as follows:
- New thumbnail view — Helps you get to see more files.
- Improved view of shared files
- Share multiple items at once — This was really helpful.
- Pin folders to your Start screen — Multiple pinning is not supported right now.
- Open your OneDrive files in other apps — Launch PDF and Office files into their apps.
- Bug fixes and performance improvements
